Defendants-appellants, American National Insurance Co. (hereinafter ANI) and Richard A. Cohen appeal from a jury verdict awarding compensatory damages to plaintiff-appellee, Phinus Brewer, in this diversity action for defamation. We find that the trial court's instructions, taken as a whole, properly stated Kentucky law and were not likely to mislead the jury. Once the issues were thus properly submitted to the jury, we find that there was ample evidence in the record to support the verdict reached. Accordingly, we affirm the judgment entered by the district court.
